I good friend of mine and I were talking about my little home aquaponics garden. He jumped in out of no where with, “YOU SHOULD DO BEES!” Bees? Our conversation immediately shifted to bees.
Long story short, two weeks later I now have 2 beehives. Pretty cool actually.
You buy bees in what are called packages. A package is one queen with three pounds of worker bees. BTW the three pounds equals out to 30,000-35,000 bees. So when you go to put them in your new home you have to shake the package so the bees get out of the whole. Shake a box with 30,000 bees, on purpose, and then stand there.

I have never been afraid of bees. Just stick to the rule, keep calm and walk away. This, this was different. I was shaking this box as I put the bees in. Frankly, it was awesome! Got my blood pumping.
Once they were installed. Driving through my neighborhood I instantly felt so connected with my neighborhood. Driving past all those home owners that have flowers and gardens. Fulling knowing my bees will make there way to there home. It was a cool feeling.
